Theatre program for ages 17-22
VST Plus is a brand-new program designed for young adults entering into their senior year of high school to age 22, bringing together many of our Valley Student Theatre alumni for a unique production experience.
Building on the skills, creativity, and community formed in our VST Summer Program, this program offers the chance to take theatre training to the next level. Participants will collaborate on a full production—strengthening performance technique, growing leadership skills, and reconnecting with fellow alumni in a supportive, professional-style environment.
VST Plus celebrates the journey from student to emerging artist, giving our alumni and other aspiring artists a space to shine and continue their theatrical growth.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Auditions
OUR FIRST VST PLUS PRODUCTION!
Auditions for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will be held virtually through a Google Form submission. Performers entering their senior year of high school through age 23 are invited to audition for this hilarious and heart-filled musical. This production will be directed by Erin Bakken & Julianne Thouin.
There is no fee to participate, though cast members will be expected to take part in program fundraising efforts. Participants should also be prepared to learn material independently and come ready to work when rehearsals begin in May. All audition materials must be submitted by December 30th. Selected performers will be invited to in-person callbacks during the second week of January.
The production will take place June 26–27 at Granby Memorial High School. Please review the show’s mature humor and content to ensure it’s a good fit before submitting. Please submit a one minute long video of your song that is in the style of the show. You may sing a song from the show if you wish.
