Cabarets

Valley Student Theatre’s cabarets give young performers the chance to shine on stage in a unique and exciting way. Unlike a full-length musical, a cabaret is a themed showcase made up of multiple songs connected by a common style, story, or idea.

Held during the winter season, our cabarets provide students with an opportunity to grow as singers, actors, and storytellers by exploring a variety of musical theatre pieces. Each performer gets their moment in the spotlight, while also working together as an ensemble to create a polished, engaging show.

For our students, cabarets are not only a chance to perform in front of a live audience, but also a valuable step in building confidence, stage presence, and versatility—skills that carry into our larger productions and beyond.

Our cabarets also serve as an important fundraiser for VST’s summer season, helping us continue to produce high-quality musicals that give students the full theatre experience—from auditions, to rehearsals, to a full run of performances. By attending a cabaret, you’re not only supporting the incredible talent of our kids, but also investing in the future of youth theatre in our community.

VST Plus

VST Plus is a brand-new program designed for young adults ages 18–22, bringing together many of our Valley Student Theatre alumni for a unique production experience.

Building on the skills, creativity, and community formed in our regular VST camp, this program offers the chance to take theatre training to the next level. Participants will collaborate on a full production—strengthening performance technique, growing leadership skills, and reconnecting with fellow alumni in a supportive, professional-style environment.

VST Plus celebrates the journey from student to emerging artist, giving our alumni and other aspiring artists a space to shine and continue their theatrical growth.
